Gerbrand has extensive expertise in commercial real estate and concerns himself with all aspects of (notarial) real estate: from transfers, mortgages, creation of rights in rem, division into apartment rights and (complex) investment transactions to setting up, advising on and overseeing real estate projects. He is an expert on business law related to real estate.

Gerbrand is a member of the Royal Notarial Association KNB, Vereniging Vaastgoed Juristen (VVJ), Vereniging voor Bouwrecht (VBR) and Vastgoedsociëteit Haaglanden.

Gerbrand received his degree in Dutch law from Erasmus University Rotterdam in 1996 (private law and business law), from the University of Amsterdam (notarial law) and also spent time studying in the UK. Gerbrand successfully completed the Grotius specialisation courses on Corporate and Business Law in 2002 and Financing and Securities in 2004. He joined Buren van Velzen Guelen in 2007.
