Philip ter Burg advises a large number of (inter)national clients on a wide range of issues and is frequently involved in complex (cross border) transactions. Philip has a wealth of experience in (inter)national litigation, representing companies with regard to distribution and agency agreements.

Recent cases include a dispute about copyright for an Italian furniture manufacturer, a dispute about the construction of a power plant in the Middle-East, arbitration for a Central-European telecommunications company, expansion to the Netherlands of an English listed temporary employment agency, the private placement of shares by a tire company, settlement of agency relations, and the designing of shop-in-shop concepts for fashion companies.

Having completed his studies in Dutch law (business law) at Leiden University in 1988, Philip received a postgraduate qualification (LL.M) in international business law from Queen Mary College, University of London (1989). He joined Buren van Velzen Guelen in 2000. Philip is a member of the IBA, the Dutch International Law Association, the Corporate Litigation Association and is a former board member of the International Trade Chapter of the Dutch Bar Association.

Philip has been a guest lecturer at Webster University in Leiden, and the Hague University of Applied Sciences. He gives training to members of Fenedex (Dutch Export Federation) and writes regularly on international trade and distribution as well as intellectual property.
